Sometimes the morning is the only time we can fit in our workout or visit to the gym, however this doesn’t mean that we are necessarily jumping for joy at the thought of a 6am workout before heading to the office. Here are some top tips to help you find that inner morning motivation…

  1. Organise yourself the night before by setting out your running gear or packing your gym bag. The thought of knowing that everything is organised will make the prospect of getting up so early more bearable, plus you won’t have to rush around.
  1. Pairing up with a friend who also has to schedule early morning exercise sessions can help you stay on track as when we exercise alone, we tend to think it isn’t a big deal to skip a workout because we aren’t letting anyone down- however the idea of letting down a friend makes us more inclined to go.
  1. Reward yourself at certain points so that you feel like your efforts are worth it. For example, if you manage to get yourself out of bed for every workout at 6am for a month consistently, treat yourself to some new gym gear or a guilt free takeaway!
  1. Focus on your mindset and keep your goals in the back of your mind all the time. If we do not know what we are striving to achieve with our workouts, we will not be motivated to get up and achieve them.
