Whilst a small amount of the population are able to begin a new diet or healthy eating regime and stick to it without fail, it’s safe to say that the majority of those who try to adjust their eating habit fail within the first week. Here at Fitness Training Solutions, we know how hard it can be to stick to something that is completely different from what you are used to and in this blog, we’re going to go over a few reasons why healthy eating is so difficult…
You Change Too Much Too Fast
Many people decide that Monday is the best day to start a new diet because it is the start of a new week and therefore a clean slate. Due to this, they spend the weekend over indulging and expecting their bodies to suddenly adapt to all of this being cut out overnight. It is wise to begin a healthy eating plan gradually by cutting out things overtime and making conscious food swaps.
You’re Cutting Out Everything Unhealthy
Just like a complete diet reversal, forbidding yourself from eating anything that is considered unhealthy is going to make you crave it even more and due to this, you will find your new lifestyle miserable and are more likely to fall at the first hurdle. Make sure to give yourself sweet treats from time to time.
You’re Not Eating Enough
If you find that you are constantly hungry when you are eating healthy then you are not eating enough. When we exercise, we burn calories and use energy that has to be replaced and although logic says we should consume less calories to lose weight, we will actually require more calories to replace this energy. You just have to ensure these calories come from foods that have a nutritional value.
Just like healthy eating, adopting a new fitness program can be challenging too. Here at Fitness Training Solutions, we want you to be able to understand every client’s needs and adjust your training accordingly which is why we place a focus on these aspects during our fitness instructor courses.
