Everybody remembers their first experience learning to ride a bike and more often than not, everybody can also recall the amount of times they’ve fallen off during the whole process. Luckily, the enjoyment of cycling can be experienced by anyone! Whether you’re young or old, a beginner or a pro, athletic or a former couch potato; cycling is a sport that anyone can partake in. Here at Fitness Training Solutions, we believe that all forms of exercise deserve recognition which is why we’ve put together some of our best cycling tips…
- Cyclists have to obey by the Highway Code which means that riding your bike must take place on the road. Of course, there is a greater risk of collisions on the road due to the abundance of cars which is why cyclists should always wear a helmet.
- Cycling is not a race, it is a form of exercise that can be done at any pace. If you are out of shape and a new beginner, you are best starting your cycle journey slowly in order to increase your stamina.
- Riding a bike at night is extremely dangerous and studies show that the most cyclist related deaths occur during 6pm and 9pm. If you must ride during low levels of light, always decorate your bike and helmet in reflective lighting and wear a hi-vis vest so that you will be seen.
Cycling is a sport that requires dedication and commitment, especially if one is looking to progress in terms of personal targets and timing. Similarly, it’s safe to say that becoming a personal trainer is no easy feat. For more information on our personal training courses, get in contact with a member of the team today!
